Kim Orlando is a native New Yorker who relocated to Pittsburgh in 1993. She received her B.A. degree from St. John’s University in Queens, New York where she graduated magna cum laude. She graduated from Hofstra Law School in 1991 as managing editor of the Hofstra Law Review. She was the sole recipient of the Lester A. Fortunoff Scholarship while attending Hofstra Law School. She was admitted to the New York bar in 1991 and the Pennsylvania bar in 1995. Ms. Orlando began her legal career with Dewey Ballantine, LLP in New York City where she specialized in large commercial real estate transactions. She joined Meyer, Unkovic & Scott, LLP in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1994 and focused primarily on corporate litigation matters. She is currently a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations’ Elder Law Sections.
With Minto Law Group, LLC, Ms. Orlando specializes in all areas of elder law including, but not limited to, Medicaid eligibility, qualifying for community- based and in-home care, patient rights in long-term care facilities, family care giver contracts, special needs trusts, guardianship proceedings and estate planning.
